Alice’s practice begins with walking. She takes time to appreciate the beauty of the mundane and to observe the minutiae of detail during her monotonous and well- traversed commute. The journey is recorded though photographs, video and by collecting forgotten or discarded objects. These objects are cast and re-appropriated into a series of tools which are used when making her porcelain sculptures. A constructed body of ceramic forms are then assembled upon the wall, creating an interactive dialogue about place and process.
Alice has just completed an MA Ceramics degree at Bath Spa University.
