Our Facilities
Clay Shed offers one of the best-equipped ceramics studios in Bristol and the Southwest, designed to support makers at every stage of their creative journey. Members enjoy 24/7 access to spacious communal work areas, wheels, kilns and specialist equipment, all easily bookable through our online system.
Our Kilns
Clay Shed has four electric kilns available to members and resident artists. Our different models and sizes cater to a wide range of ceramics practice, from small batches to larger pottery and sculptural work.

We have two 60 litre Nabertherm and Pottery Craft kilns. Great for firing small scale or smaller groups of work

Our Studio Equipment & Facilities

7 Shimpo pottery wheels with up to 11kg (25lb) centring capacity

Communal shelving to store work in progress, from greenware to pieces ready to be glazed

A metal topped table complete with a range of sieves, dipping tongs and mixers

Gladstone water wash and high extraction system, with compressor and an array of spray gun sizes, suitable for a range of glazing requirements

Create clay slabs up to 102cm x 47cm, with a maximum thickness of 2.5cm

Gladstone self contained casting system, with removable wooden casting rails; allowing the operator to cast plaster moulds and then drain them back into the casting tank

Extrude coils, handles and tubes of different shapes and thicknesses using our range of dies

Use our house batts to recycle and reclaim your clay
