Pottery Classes & Ceramics Workshops

Courses
Our courses run over six weeks and focus on developing skills.

  • All Levels – For complete beginners and those with experience who want to build confidence and refine their skills.

  • Beginners – A starting point for newcomers or anyone wanting to refresh the basics of throwing.

  • Improvers – For those with some experience looking to advance their throwing techniques.

Workshops
Workshops are shorter, usually weekend-based sessions, designed to explore a wider range of ceramic practices. We run monthly beginner-friendly throwing workshops and throughout the year invite professional artists to lead specialist sessions in hand building, glazing and decorative techniques.

Artist Residencies

Our residencies support ceramicists, potters, and artists undertaking focused short-term projects. Spanning 1–3 months, they provide dedicated time and space to develop new work, test ideas, and refine practice in a professional studio environment.

The programme includes monthly one-to-one tutorials, technical and critical support, 24/7 access to communal facilities, personal storage, and £50 kiln credit. Applicants must have prior experience working independently with clay.

What people say about us…

  • Fabulous pottery setup - friendly people and efficient too. Never seen a cleaner or tidier pottery studio before. So pleased with my efforts, with which I received much help from Erica, our very patient tutor. Hope to be back sometime soon.

  • I felt at home right away, the instructors were both really friendly and very helpful and I was so pleased with the pots I got to take home. I couldn’t recommend these courses enough for anyone looking to get started in ceramics this is the place to go.

    Josh - course participant/member

  • Great facilities, 7 wheels, very sturdy tables, as well as 4 kilns. Working and experimenting alongside other makers at the same time is incredibly beneficial and really pushed me to try new ideas. I couldn't recommend this place enough!
